If there’s any gaming news worth knowing about in 2021, it’s the confirmation that THEA500 Mini is in full production, with a release date set for early 2022.

THEA500 Mini is the retro machine to own. Why is that? Well, any fan will already associate A500 with the Amiga 500, and you’d be right: it’s the computer’s time to shine for retro fans and for those who played the ultimate machine back in the day.

While I have Amiga Forever on my PC, there’ll be no hesitating in snapping up this beast when it comes out in March next year. The complete list of games included come to 25, and though that may seem like a scratch on its library, if you have your own collection you’ve ripped from your old floppies – backups – they can be installed via a USB stick using WHDLoad.

Other than the games, what’s in the box? Included with THEA500 Mini is a 1.8m wired classic USB mouse, 1.8m wired precision 8-button gamepad, USB-A to USB-C power cable (PSU not included), plus an HDMI cable which is also 1.8m.

Features include save game functions, selectable 50Hz or 60Hz (back in the day, we had to use a patch!), CRT filters, multiple scaling options, plus the ability to add more games and firmware updates in due course.

Retro Games’ THEA500 Mini is expected to come out of production in January 2022 and will be on sale from the 25th of March 2022 with a retail price of £119.99. Honestly? I can’t wait.
