Starway To Urf First Impressions – In Space Everyone Can Hear You Pee
Fast-food, comfort breaks and daddy issues. Relatable? You betcha.
Classic me: I still have plenty of games to queue up for review, yet here I am, sidetracked by the Starway to Urf demo on Steam. Why, might you ask, am I diving into a game neither of us has heard of when there’s a backlog screaming for attention?
Because it’s a point and click. No, I’m not making a request – it’s a genre I love, and naturally, I had to investigate. Scroll down through the gumpf on the store page, and you’ll see references to Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, and even a nod to GOTY 2025, The Drifter meets Unavowed? To top it off, it’s described as “all delivered with surreal British humour.” Bona.
As I scrolled through Starway to Urf’s store page, I was overwhelmed with joy (or was it pee?). Has Sam Bunn, a.k.a. Spun Games, crafted this just for me? Methinks this is a passion project from someone who speaks directly to my heart. Even the GIFs cracked me up with their titles. No pressure, but this better be good now that I’ve bigged it up.
A Love Letter to Point and Click Classics
A breath of relief – it is good, and it delivers on all expectations. The artwork isn’t something that would have caught my eye, nor the title (for obvious reasons); however, the setup is pretty funny and plays exactly like the games it references.

In Starway to Urf, you play as intergalactic au-pair, Susie Anyango. While not in the same echelons as a space janitor, it’s still a respectable job that gets her into enough trouble to embark on a journey for the titular McGuffin.
Susie Anyango’s Very Urgent Intergalactic Problem
On board her craft, with a bunch of newly acquired alien friends, an ominous wave passes through that forces her to pee. No, it’s not that kind of game, but having been able to withhold for so long, Susie now finds herself in an unenviable position: she needs a loo, and there isn’t one.
Cue a fast-food diner with the lure of a public restroom, which unfortunately reveals a trap where Susie is now on the menu and needs to plan her escape. Cue a few absurd moments, like reliving an interactive dream from the perspective of a TV, and we have ourselves a proper point and click.
Does the Demo Hold Up?
I had good first impressions of Starway to Urf, but I was a little gutted that the controls didn’t work so well on my handhelds (my issue, not the game). There were a couple of freezes too, which meant restarting the demo. Doing this three times should indicate that it wasn’t a chore to repeat, but it’s worth noting.

The real issue we face is the release date. Their current plan is 2028. While I don’t want to rush Sam unnecessarily, I want to play this now. According to my sources, we’re still in 2026, so that’s at least another calendar year until maybe this might be out.
On the flip side? The demo is currently available (still 2026), so I would encourage you to take it for a spun. After that, wishlist it. It takes no effort, and we all know what your memory is like for keeping track of game releases.
Oh, also, I want you to do all the above before your next pee. And make sure you wash your hands.
