Tried multitasking, but it didn’t work out? Instead of playing Solitaire on your phone and watching hentai on your TV, combine the two in Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS, out now on the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, courtesy of Eastasiasoft.

Hentai is overused, and I disagree with myself on the choice of words. But, through a splash of laziness, that’s the word I’m using here, as the pretty girls here have pretty big norks. HUGE, to be fair. Yes, I know that’s the draw for many of you, but it was my only reservation about covering this.

Read any of my other Eastasiasoft reviews in the same category, and you’ll know I often make this disclaimer. I’m no less a perv than the next hairy-palmed gamer, but this erotic element in the game does nothing for me, so no visiting the gallery or doing cartwheels for unlocking a new costume. In other words, if you came for the tits, you’re going to be disappointed as I’m moving on. Do check out Dreamcutter, however.

Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS Review [PS5]

Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS is a Solitaire-based game that adds much more visual appeal to the standard one you’ve probably played on your Windows-based ‘puter. The same rules apply, and the aim is to plough through a deck, double-clicking each suit from the ace to the king to win.

Now, my reservation was the girl element. Taking a risk, I played this in front of my teenage daughter and the wife, only to be criticised for being a perv, getting more eyebrow lifts than when The Rock finds skids in his underwear, or for what can quickly be analysed as “What are you playing?” Despite the challenge, they soon saw a very good game here, but the girlies were off-putting.

There is a timer in Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS, so steaming through as fast as you can improve your overall score makes the original so endlessly replayable. Well, you can do that here, too.

Play Your Cards Right

The faster you pair cards up or click them to start their respective suit piles, the bigger the combo you’ll achieve, thus unlocking new stages and costumes. Though multiple difficulty levels exist, hints are up for grabs should you get stuck. As any die-hard Solitaire fan will know, you just have to go without stabilisers for the best experience.

Returning to the presentation element of Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS, the artwork is good, but the soundtrack was too corny. The girls’ comments were initially annoying but soon became irrelevant, whether you understand Japanese or not. As per the audience, I turned the volume down—worse because the missus is Japanese, and I didn’t want any further eyebrow-raising.

Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire PLUS is best played in the comfort of your bedroom, or if you want the Switch version, under the covers or in the toilet. It’s not that kind of game; it simply depends on how comfortable you feel with the content. It’s suggestive at worst, so don’t expect anything explicit. More importantly, the game is great, applying a tried-and-tested formula that works well, though it takes a little getting used to with a controller over a mouse.
