Thunderflash Takes Warfare Back To The Classic 80s Action Movie

Relive the classic top-down warzone shooter in Thunderflash, the latest from Ratalaika Games.

One of my favourite games growing up was Ikari Warriors, a top-down Commando-inspired shooter, which appears to have been captured with Ratalaika’s latest game, Thunderflash.

Despite all the ray-tracing capabilities of PC and consoles, I can’t help but gush over this action retro titles where you enter a warzone as a solo venture or co-op, choosing either Rock or Stan.

Like any 80s based action movie, you need a convoluted plot: ‘The Kashmir is being occupied by a criminal organization known as Bloody Wolf, and your job is to make your country proud by taking them all down.’ Sounds good.

If you’ve never played this sort of game, you’re missing out, and I can’t wait to give it a go and relive the past on a snazzy new games console as it’s available for all consoles. Well, modern ones.

Thunderflash has the following features:

  • Intense top-down war zone action
  • Collect powerful weapons
  • Retro arcade/console inspired art and sound
  • Single player and two player mode
  • Boss rush mode

Check out the trailer below:

Thunderflash is available on the PS4/PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. It will be released in Nippon on Switch and PlayStation from the 25th of February, and all other platforms for the EU and NA will see it on the 26th.
