Time For An RPG Road Trip – Terra Memoria Is Coming Soon
Let’s be honest here, Terra Memoria does look a little like Octopath Traveler. I had to watch the trailer before the write-up, but when seeing that this upcoming turn-based RPG is by La Moutarde and Dear Villagers, it became clear that this is a new IP you’ll want to get your hands on.
Terra Memoria is a homage to 90s RPGs, mainly using pixel art and 3D techniques that’ll appeal to newer generations, hence the comparison to Octopath Traveler. However, the focus here, besides exploration, is a hint of cosiness and friendship.
When a shortage of magic crystals and the awakening of ancient robots threaten the people of Terra, a group of six friends head out on an adventure, where each party member is playable and with their own story to tell. Besides turn-based combat, players will need to solve environmental puzzles and craft a plethora of items.
With Terra Memoria we wanted to create a timeless adventure in the style of a classic RPG that offers more modern twists on the genre, like building, cooking, and crafting… Terra Memoria is an ode to the road trip, with a focus on the bond between friends and found family, as they explore unfamiliar lands together.
