The latest in the Amnesia series is an experience ‘safe from monsters, darkness and jump scares’, with a dedicated option for those also in attendance of the Scared By Horror Games Guild. I’m a member too.
Frictional Games’ Amnesia Rebirth Adventure Mode strips out all the anxiety-induced scares and instead focuses on the narrative and puzzles – a great option if said scares put you off the first time or if you just want to experience the game with a different perspective.
The game still has its very serious theme and sometimes unnerving ambiance, but the new mode feels a lot more like an Indiana Jones type of adventure in places where it would otherwise be more of a horror experience.Fredrik Olsson, Creative Lead
